NUESTRA HISTORIA · SA PAÏSSA DEn Botja
A Legacy of Three Generations
Sa Païssa den Botja is much more than a villa: it is a family story bound to the land, the sea and the very essence of Ibiza.
An authentic refuge, where the memory of the island lives on.

Land and sea
Much more than a villa
Sa Païssa den Botja is not just a place to stay, but a house with memory. Among stone, wood and Mediterranean calm, it preserves the character of an architecture that has been lived in and lovingly cared for over time.

A retreat where time, materials and memory are still present.
A legacy that continues
The origins
In our grandfather’s time, life in this part of the island was simple and deeply connected to nature. The land was part of everyday life, and it was in this environment that our father, Vicente, learned from a very young age to work in the fields with his family.

That connection with the land was not just a way of life — it was something passed down through the generations.
Vicente
Over the years, that connection with the land extended to the sea. He would spend hours fishing around Es Vedrà, long before it became the iconic landmark it is today.

His boat, LUNASAN, held a very special meaning: its name was formed from the initials of his wife and children. More than a vessel, it reflected a simple way of life between the sea and the land, based on effort and family.
Today, the story continues
Today we continue to care for this place, keeping its memory alive.

The three daughters of Vicente carry on this story today, caring for Sa Païssa with the same respect for its essence, its character and its connection to the land, the sea and the spirit of Ibiza.
From “Païssa” to Villa

Sa Païssa takes its name from a traditional Ibizan structure, originally built to shelter farmers who worked land and kept livestock far from their main home. It consisted of a small kitchen, sleeping quarters and stables for the animals.
Over the years, and with vision and dedication, our father transformed this space into a rustic style villa, respecting its essence and maintaining the authentic character of Ibicencan architecture.
